Hawaii Five-0 season 10: When could it start filming?

We are in the midst of one of the most painful times of the year for any Hawaii Five-0 Fan. Call it the Hawaii Hiatus. This is a piece of time in which the CBS show is not filming, and to go along with that, there are no new episodes on the air. Really, this is the only extended period of time that we have of this in the entire year, other than maybe the holiday season.

Luckily, we do know already that Hawaii Five-0 scripts are currently being plotted out by Peter M. Lenkov and the writers (read more on that here), so you know that things are in the works. It’s just a matter of getting from point A to point B, which is the official start of production.

So when will that be? For the sake of this article, let’s start to get the wheels of speculation turning a little bit. After all, it’s not as though it is extremely far away! Typically, Hawaii Five-0 starts production around the middle of July, and that’s more or less what we’re expecting this time around. There’s no reason to think that things are going to undergo so huge shift, especially since the ratings are good enough that CBS is going to want as many episodes as they possibly can. The goal for the production will be to make things intense, efficient, and also creative. You want to do things within the well-oiled machine structure, but also test your cast and crew so that you can bring new things to viewers. That is what will get you a season 11, 12, and so on … you get the drift.

We certainly know that for any Hawaii Five-0 fan out there at the moment, there are some huge things to anticipate throughout season 10. Before we get to some of those, though, we’re going to need to see the big cliffhanger resolved. Is McGarrett okay? We certainly hope so, given that Hawaii Five-0 is not anywhere close to the same series with he’s not a part of it. We’re also still worried about Jerry, given that he could have potentially jumped in front of that bullet and been in the line of fire. (Unless the producers really want to torment us, we should get answers sooner rather than later.)

After that cliffhanger is resolved, we suppose that the central mythology of season 10 will start to be built up and we’ll alternate between the typical story of the week plots and then something a little bit larger, something that could span a lot of time. Along the way, let’s also anticipate some exciting, fun, and at times heartbreaking personal stuff. The reason that they show is so successful is because of the characters — people care about them their hearts break for them, and in the end, they all feel like they are a part of our big extended Ohana.

Now, we do want to hear from all of you. What do you want to see on Hawaii Five-0 season 10, and do you agree that this is the hardest part of the waiting period? Be sure to share right now in the comments. (Photo: CBS.)
