Saturday Night Live, Big Little Lies connect in most unusual way
For everyone who loves Billy on the Street — and how could you not? — there is a glorious new video that is out this week featuring none other than Billy Eichner and Saturday Night Live cast member Kate McKinnon. We know that Kate is the master of playing different characters with a ton of different voices, and of course, one of the advantages that goes along with that is that apparently, not a lot of people on the street know what she actually looks like.
With this in mind, this video is made up of Eichner introducing McKinnon to various people … and telling them in the process that she’s actually Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon, who is actually pictured above. We’ll be the first to admit that the two have at least some physical similarities … some. It’s hardly like they are identical twins, but for the majority of the people Billy and Kate walked up to, they seemed to legitimately think that McKinnon was Reese after being told so.
(There is one person who did actually realize who Kate really was, and the result of this was certainly hilarious. What’s also hilarious is that this video actually came out in the midst of Big Little Lies’ promotional push, when it actually helps that show, as opposed to right in the thick of the latest SNL season.)

We, of course, applaud McKinnon for being a good sport here, but we also think there’s probably a part of her that legitimately enjoyed confusing people. One of her most appealing traits is that she does have a tendency to relish in her being so low-key. She’s not an active person on social media and, away from her work on the show, it does seem like she’s got a relatively quiet private life.
Now, let’s pose the question that should really be on everyone’s mind…
When are we going to get Billy Eichner host SNL? We think that he’s certainly famous enough at this point in his career, in addition to him being absolutely hilarious. Clearly, he already knows Kate, and he may have a rapport with some other cast members on the show.
