Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 2 preview: Enter Emily Deschanel

Emily DeschanelFollowing tonight’s premiere episode, Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 2 is going to show that this is a series with no intention of slowing down. It’s going to be big, bold, crazy, and intense. Basically, it’s going to be everything that you could want from a series like this. This is the sort of show designed for the purpose of having your hair stand on end.

So where do things go from here? We know that the main selling point of next week’s “Angela” is going to be the title character — a woman played by Emily Deschanel who has some significant ties to the Cody family and their past. We’re going to have a great deal of further insight into who these people were, mostly because of precisely who she is now. She’s going to need the family’s help in some ways … but also is going to look to take advantage of them at just about every turn. She’s opportunistic in the sense that she recognizes that the family absolutely can help her. She just needs to figure out the proper means and opportunity.

Below, CarterMatt has the official Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 2 synopsis with more insight all about what’s coming up next:

J (Finn Cole) reconsiders his relationship with Smurf (Ellen Barkin) after he gets bad news about Morgan’s death. Frankie (Dichen Lachman) lures Craig (Ben Robson) with the promise of another big score. The arrival of an old family friend surprises Pope (Shawn Hatosy); and Deran (Jake Weary) questions if Adrian (Spencer Treat Clark) is really ready to accept him for who he is.

As we move into this upcoming episode, there are absolutely some questions to think about. Take, for example, whether or not Frankie is going to be able to manipulate Craig into doing just about whatever she wants him to do. We know that she is smart and manipulative, and she already seems to have her talons in him to a certain degree.

Meanwhile, the real threat that is bubbling underneath the surface at the moment is Adrian, largely due to the fact that he is working in secret with the authorities — but is clearly in over his head in doing so. Having Adrian be familiar with the Cody family business is a dangerous game, one that could have some serious ramifications for them in due time.

Meanwhile, there’s a good chance that Pope is going to pass out from exhaustion due to everything that Smurf’s got him running around and doing.
