Dynasty season 3 will have new showrunner; Sallie Patrick leaving

Dynasty

While we know that Dynasty season 3 is going to be coming on The CW a little bit later this fall, it’s going to have a slightly different creative push behind it.

In a recent post on Instagram, Sallie Patrick revealed that she is going to be stepping away from the CW series following two seasons in the showrunner post. She’s been the main driver of story and worked alongside the writers in order to deliver the best, most-twisted version of this story possible. Dynasty is a pretty tough show in a lot of ways to do, mostly because at almost every turn, you are having to contend with the massive shoulders of the original series. Even though it’s been off the air for some time, we’d be kidding ourselves if we were to act as though no one remembers it. It does have its own fair share of viewers.

While there may be a slightly different creative behind the show moving forward, we do still think that there is reason for confidence. Just think about it this way — there have been a lot of behind-the-scenes shifts with CW series over the years. Supernatural has undergone many different shifts over the past several years in terms of its creative team, and we know that The Flash is also changing showrunners this summer with Eric Wallace taking the help. This sort of thing just happens — it’s a natural part of the television industry.

Dynasty is going to have its fair share of challenges moving into season 3, with one of the biggest ones being what in the world to do about Liam given the way that season 2 concluded. Beyond that, you have to figure out what to do with some other established characters … and also see whether are not there are some other news ones coming on board.
