Chicago Med season 4 episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Colin Donnell, Norma Kuhling’s send-off
Earlier this year, we first discussed this both in article and video form (check out the latter below and subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for other updates) that both of these actors will be departing the drama. In the case of Colin, he is exiting after being a part of this show from the beginning. Meanwhile, Norma has been a central component for the last couple of seasons. It’s a big couple of exits that could dramatically change the show — but a whole lot of it could depend heavily on how their stories are written into the last episode … provided that they even are. The departures seemed to be fairly sudden and with that, we don’t have a clear indication that they will be fully introduced in the finale or not. (If the answer is “not,” we hope that there’s a chance to at least bring them back for one last episode in the fall, similar to what happened with Rachel DiPillo as Sarah Reese.)
What we can go ahead and give you right now is the Chicago Med season 4 finale synopsis, as this has a few more details all about what’s coming:
05/22/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : In the season finale, Dr. Charles and Caroline set some major plans. Ava fights to keep her relationship with Connor. Agent Lee informs Will of news that may put his life in danger. TV-14 V
So, clearly, there’s something that is going to impact both Donnell and Kuhling’s characters within this final episode, in addition to some other important stuff for Dr. Charles and Will Halstead as they try to better figure out their futures. Of course, with Will a lot of it may end up hitting him hard in the present. We don’t know just how much the writers want to torment this guy at the moment, but bringing back something pertaining to the Ray storyline from earlier this year could be a pretty sensible way in which to do that. While he was sent away for a while for the sake of his own safety, he’s back now and we still think that Ray has some associates out there who are probably eager to settle some scores … and they may blame a lot of their problems at the moment on the good doctor. (Sorry, different show.)
Anyhow, we imagine that there will be some sort of cliffhanger at the end of the season 4 finale — the question that you gotta wonder here is simply a matter of who will it be around, and how will it impact the future.
