The Big Bang Theory series finale: Penny’s secret; Nobel Prize hopes

The Big Bang Theory series finale is arriving on Thursday! We’re not sure if we’ll ever be prepared to say goodbye to this program, but we are in a spot now where we’ve got no choice. We have to prepare to watch it fade away and the big question to wonder here is simply this: How will it happen? How emotional will the goodbye be?

Well, today CBS released some of the first information about the two episodes constituting the finale on Sunday, and this will include an opportunity to see significant change and maybe a happy ending for a few characters.

Episode 1 – “The Change Constant” –Sheldon and Amy await big news, on the series finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, May 16 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This episode could be one that features the big news in terms of whether or not the two end up getting a Nobel Prize. Do they deserve it? Absolutely. After all that they’ve been through, we can imagine no better ending for the two of them.

Episode 2 – “The Stockholm Syndrome” – Bernadette and Wolowitz leave their kids for the first time; Penny and Leonard try to keep a secret; Sheldon and Amy stick together; and Koothrappali makes a new friend, as the gang travels together into an uncharted future, on the series finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, May 16(8:30-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The obvious question that you have to wonder after reading this is simple: Is Penny pregnant? We think that this is the obvious ending for her and Leonard, especially since it is such a callback to the “my children will be smart and beautiful” line that we got all the way back in the pilot. We don’t think that the series wanted to rush that big reveal along with Howard and Bernadette already being parents, but this could be the right time in order to do it.

Beyond this, can we actually have a chance to see Raj get some sort of closure? We’re not sure that we’re going to have a chance to see him with a love interest at the end of the show, but that is also another reminder that not everyone gets their romantic happy ending at the time in which you’d want it for them. Sometimes, it takes a little more time in order to get to that point. This obviously could set the stage for a Raj-centered spin-off, but it doesn’t seem as though there are any plans for that at the moment.
