Blue Bloods season 9 episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Jamie, Eddie’s wedding!

Blue Bloods season 9 episode 22 is coming to CBS next week, and here’s a generous dose of some really good news. This, dear readers, is the installment you’ve been waiting for! This is a chance to see Jamie and Eddie get married — or, at least we hope that they get married. Can you imagine the rage and the protests if that doesn’t happen? It could be a hot mess like no other and the sort of thing that completely unravels everything.

Luckily, we don’t think that this is that sort of show. It’s certainly possible that there’s some undue drama (this is Blue Bloods — it’s gonna happen), but we also think that one way or another, we’ll get to see these characters move down the aisle. We’ll get to see some of those vows. Otherwise, it’s hard to feel anything other than that this episode was a little bit of a letdown. We want romance! We also want a culmination of what’s been an exciting relationship to watch the past few years.

“Something Blue” – As Jamie and Eddie’s wedding day approaches, Frank worries about the toast he’ll deliver at their rehearsal dinner. Also, Erin interviews a witness whose story leads her to doubt Eddie’s honesty, since she took his initial statement, and Danny and Baez unravel the complicated love life of a young homicide victim, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, May 10 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Clearly, the wedding is not going to keep Danny and Baez from taking on some of what they do best — and the same goes for Erin. This is not a show that has a fundamental interest in shaking up the formula all that much, and it really shouldn’t since the bread and butter is what keeps people sitting around the metaphorical family dinner table. After nine years and enormous ratings, it feels pretty darn obvious that the writers are doing something right here!

As for whether or not there’s going to be a big cliffhanger, we don’t think that Blue Bloods as a show really needs that. The primary thing it has to focus on is just delivering a knockout, emotional story that has its heart in the right place. It knows what works; there’s no reason to change it.
