’30 Rock’ season 7 spoilers: First look at ‘Breaking Bad’s’ Bryan Cranston

If there is one guest star that pretty much any show should want, it’s Bryan Cranston. We already know that the man is complete and utter brilliance on “Breaking Bad,” but on Thursday he is going to be returning more to some of his comedy roots for a one-episode spot on “30 Rock,” the show lucky enough to snag him for a non-directing gig. (He’s recently helmed episodes of both “Modern Family” and “The Office.”)

As you may have heard already, Cranston is going to be playing Ron, who is in Kenneth’s eyes his mother’s “friend” who can really do no good at all no matter how hard he tries. It’s really sad in a way, mostly because the guy appears to be one of the kindest people out there. He also seems to be pretty well-behaved around stars based on what we see here, even with Jenna, who went on a complete and total diva tear right in front of them as the two watched on with excitement and “I’ve never met a star before” faces.

Personally, we’re hoping that Kenneth’s ma and pa will be able to at least knock a little bit of sense into their son in one way: getting him to realize just how terrible of an idea that it is to live with Hazel. Admittedly, we’re also a little bit biased given our already-stated opinion that she is probably the worst character on the show, especially when it comes to making us actually root for any one thing that she does.

Are you pumped up already to be seeing Cranston back on TV again, even if he is doing no cooking here or spending time with Aaron Paul?
