The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 21 spoilers: The quest for a Nobel Prize

Moving into The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 21 on CBS next week, it’s clear that Sheldon and Amy are on a quest. What kind? Think of one with an enormous goal at the center of it. The Nobel Prize is sitting somewhere in the distance and through “The Plagiarism Schism,” we’ll see characters inch ever closer to it.

Yet, in order for Sheldon and Amy to get precisely what it is that they want, they have one more obstacle standing before them: Dr. Pemberton. They’ve learned some valuable intel about his past, and that is information that, if they want, they could use against him a little bit further on down the line. The question they will be left to wonder through this is whether or not they really want to — and also whatever blowback could fall on them for being the “tattler.” We’re not sure how much this matters within the science community, but it certainly does virtually everywhere else.

Want to get a little more insight now on what’s coming? Then just remember to check out the official The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 21 synopsis below:

“The Plagiarism Schism” – Kripke (John Ross Bowie) has proof that Dr. Pemberton (Sean Astin) plagiarized his thesis in college, and Sheldon and Amy aren’t sure if they should turn him in or not. Also, Wolowitz is happily surprised to learn that Bernadette wasn’t the only waitress at the Cheesecake Factory who had a crush on him back in the day, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, May 2 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Let’s start here by keeping things simple — isn’t it nice that we’re getting one more appearance from Kripke on this show before it all ends? Personally, we’re thrilled that Bowie’s had another show in Speechless, even if it’s limited his appearances here. Kripke’s one of the most memorable characters on this show’s run — he’s certainly been an adversary to Sheldon at times, but there’s also enough integrity on his part to actually present Sheldon with some of this information in the first place. We like to think that this matters!

As for the Wolowitz part of this story, we’re actually kinda happy that the Cheesecake Factory is coming back on the show in some form before the end. This was such an iconic setting for the vast majority of the series and it’s hard to really imagine us being able to say goodbye without at least a reminder of it. (One of the things that we’ve LONG wondered if whether or not the Cheesecake Factory actually appreciated some of the love that The Big Bang Theory gave them over the years. After all, it did bring them a lot of attention!)
