Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 11 preview: The family visit

Edge of Extinction

As we move towards Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 11, it’s obviously clear that we are nearing the end of the game. The strategy talk is being taken up a notch, and we also do still have the threat of the Edge of Extinction looming out there. There’s a lot of crazy stuff that could be coming over the rest of the season depending on how things shake out there, and the unpredictability that goes along with this season is probably one of the biggest reasons why it’s so fun. There are multiple people left who can win, and we do think that there are some other people that you can add to this list very soon. There’s enough time left for some underdogs to actually become big-time players with some of the individual moves that they make!

Following tonight’s episode, we knew that the game shifted yet again with Wardog voted out. He was the biggest strategic threat by far and now, Rick Devens is basically on an island by himself. He’s the obvious target, and given his presence as a jury threat, who would want to keep him around? On the surface, this feels like one of those episodes coming up where the writers have to look really hard in order to convince us that something big could happen.

Well, it seems like setting up Devens could be a big part of it since Ron is handing him over the Advantage Menu from earlier this season. Finally, it seems like that is going to play a role in the show again! This could end up putting Devens in even greater danger, given that he could be duped even more as to what’s going to happen to him in the game.

On a more sentimental note, it seems like we’re going to have a chance to be distracted in the form of the family visit, that one part of the season where we get emotional even though we know that we should be jaded at this point in the season. This is, after all, where people can briefly turn off their brain and actually spend some time getting a reminder of who they love and care about beyond the confines of the game. It could also wake some of them up and inspire them to do some great things.
