‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: George R.R. Martin on ‘Autumn Storms’

Even though George R.R. Martin is certainly a busy man in working on the books within the “Game of Thrones” franchise, he also does take the time out every year to pen at least one episode for the hit HBO show. So what is the installment that he is doing for season 3? As we have said previously, the title here is going to be “Autumn Storms.” Now, we at least have a few more details pertaining to just how Martin feels about it.

Speaking within a new interview with Adria’s News (which is rather extensive and contains some great information for those of you who love the books), Martin had the following to say:

“I wrote the 7th episode (3×07), called ‘Autumn Storms’. I know the title is not as brilliant as ‘Blackwater’ (2×09), which was certainly good, but it was the best name I could come up with. At least, there are a number of autumn storms and it’s raining a lot in that chapter…”

Martin also confirmed that A Storm of Swords would not only be divided into two seasons, but that there could also be some content from A Feast of Crows and A Dance with Dragons that also makes an appearance within the fourth season, largely because of the way that the TV show is told chronologically in comparison to some of the books, which opt to focus on some character’s individual stories before later jumping over to some other ones.

Season 3 will continue filming this year in Morocco as well as Iceland, and this comes after lengthy filming periods in both Northern Ireland and Dubrovnik, Croatia. Did you think that “Blackwater” was the best season 2 episode, and do you believe that “Autumn Storms” has the same sort of potential?
