911 season 2 episode 15 preview: The tale of ‘Ocean’s 9-1-1’
What we like about the idea of this episode is that it combines some of the typical 9-1-1 formula with something a little different. It allows the writers to create a little bit of a sandbox rather than just having them in the same environment that they’ve tackled so many times before. It’s variety, and we certainly think that a little bit of variety can go a long way towards making sure that this show keeps the same fantastic audience that it’s had for the vast majority of its run.
So why is this episode entitled this? What’s causing this show to venture in a little bit of a direction of a heist? Well, let’s just say that some first responders are going to find themselves facing a little bit of an unusual accusation. A going-away party for a bank manager turns into an emergency, and then a mystery, as the first responders are accused of pulling off a daring heist in the all-new “Ocean’s 9-1-1” episode of 9-1-1 airing Monday, April 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (NIN-215) (TV-14 D, L, V)
Over the course of this episode, our hope is fairly simple: There’s going to be a chance to see these characters as we’ve never seen them before. (Yes, we get it — that’s a real Promo Guy way to describe things, but it certainly does work here.) We want to see them having to answer some tough questions, but we also could benefit from some moments to laugh here and there throughout. Just remember that we’ve been through some pretty horrible stuff with some of these characters — think about what we’ve seen already with Maddie over the past few weeks, plus almost witnessing the death of Chimney. (Why does this show like to cause so much chaos in our heart?)
There are still a handful of episodes coming this season and we’re sure that by the end of this season, being accused of pulling off a heist is probably going to be the least of these characters’ woes. Expect some fireworks, and also be prepared for a huge Bobby episode airing next week. That’s something that we’ll have a little more news on in good time, but the bar has been set SKY HIGH as of late with some of the other episodes themed all around Hen and Chimney. You can make the argument that these are some of the season’s best overall.
