Last Man Standing season 7 episode 21 spoilers: Pinball wizards!

Last Man Standing

It’s been a good while since we’ve had a last of Last Man Standing scoop to share, largely for two different reasons — there haven’t been many episodes on as of late and beyond that, Fox is being super-stingy on that season 8 renewal. We feel like it’s coming — our philosophy hasn’t exactly changed — but clearly, the Disney dealings and everything else has of late has caused Fox to be a little more patient when it comes to dishing out good news.

Luckily, we do have some good news today — even if it’s not news about the renewal. We’ve got the first insight on season 7 episode 21, the second-to-last one of the season! This is one that’s going to be almost akin to a trip back to the 1980’s … or at least that’s what we think when we hear about a pinball machine being put into the Outdoor Man office. Yeah, we fully recognize that these are still out there, but it’s not exactly something you see everybody obsessing over these days. (Also, did you know how much a quality pinball machine costs? It will make your eyes pop clean out of your head! Gotta give some credit to Outdoor Man — business must be booming to bring one in, unless of course they snatched it up at a garage sale for some sort of uber-discount.)

For some more news on what makes this episode special, check out the official Last Man Standing season 7 episode 21 synopsis:

Mike and Chuck get their game on when Ed has a pinball machine installed in the office. Meanwhile, Kristen and Mandy become jealous of a poem Vanessa wrote for Jen in the all-new “The Favourite” episode of LAST MAN STANDING airing Friday, May 3 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LMS-721) (TV-PG D, L)

Should Mandy and Kristen really be jealous?

In a word … nope! What’s really happening here is that Vanessa may be trying to make Jen feel special as we inch ever closer to the end of this season, especially since she entered the story as an outsider trying to get a better sense of Baxter family life. Given that foreign exchange students tend to eventually go back home, that’s another component to be thinking about here. We’ll see what Jen’s eventual longevity is with the series, but for Mandy and Kristen what we’re seeing is just a case of classic underlying jealousy that they aren’t getting the same attention that they have. Granted, wasn’t there also a time that the two of them went through this with Eve? It’s not like they’ve all of a sudden acquired a third sibling here — though to be fair, Eve’s not a permanent fixture around the household these days.

When is Last Man Standing back in the air?

Think April 19! Your long hiatus-nightmare will be over then … but you’ll still have a short nightmare after the fact given that Last Man Standing is returning only to then go away for another week before this pinball-themed episode airs. You can get more info on the April 19 episode — the big 150th one for the series overall — at the link here!
