The Blacklist season 6 episode 18 spoilers: Katarina’s father Dom returning

Is Dominic “Dom” Wilkinson one of the most important characters within The Blacklist? He’s a smart guy with a knack for keeping secrets, and there are still many question marks surrounding the relationship that he has with Reddington. What’s the regular nature of their communication? Dom knows that Reddington isn’t quite who he claims to be, but how much he knows beyond that is still up in the air, as is how much he’d actually want to help Reddington at this point if he were to come to him with a problem. Dom’s not the sort of guy to welcome Reddington with open arms,  a smile and a hot cup of coffee.

So what makes Dom’s return so interesting on The Blacklist season 6 episode 18 (the first of two episodes airing on April 26 and one entitled “The Brockton College Killer”) is that it’s coming amidst a larger search for information by Ressler on Dom’s daughter Katarina. Are these storylines going to merge together in an explosive manner? You gotta think of that as one possibility — the closer that we inch towards answers this season, the more that we’re going to see characters from the past become incredibly important to the present. Dom’s always been that guy hidden underneath a cloud of secrecy, where you think that sooner or later he’s going to burst through like the Kool-Aid man shouting “oh yeah” … though probably not with the same sort of energy.

For more details on The Blacklist season 6 episode 18, we suggest checking out the synopsis below:

04/26/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Friday) : When a frozen corpse is discovered in the woods, the Task Force is drawn into the investigation of an old case that has gained notoriety due to a popular true crime podcast. Meanwhile, Red (James Spader) visits Dom Wilkinson (guest star Brian Dennehy) for help making a difficult decision, and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) makes a discovery about Katarina Rostova’s past.

Given how much The Blacklist has explored crime in the public eye this season (remember, the Task Force had to come up with a reason to justify Reddington not being executed earlier this season) doesn’t it make some sense for them to present their own version of Serial? The Blacklister within this episode is likely tied to this, though we’ll have to be patient on if they’ve got anything to do with Dom at all.

For those wondering, we’ve looked up if there is an actual Brockton College and from what we can figure out, there is none bearing that particular name. This is obviously The Blacklist giving us their version of Hudson University a.k.a. that place where all of the horrible stuff happens on SVU. They don’t want to be in a spot where something that happens around a fictional school becomes synonymous with real life.
