Grey’s Anatomy season 15, Station 19 crossover date set

Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode 6

We’ve been hearing some scuttlebutt across the internet for a while about a Grey’s Anatomy season 15 / Station 19 crossover event, but there were still some larger questions that remained like when the actual event was going to air?

Consider this article your panacea for everything we have on the subject. This crossover is going to take place on Thursday, May 2 (that’s coming up pretty soon!) starting with Grey’s Anatomy, where you’re going to see some of the firefighters from the station arrive due to an emergency that leads to one of them being under Maggie’s care. The synopsis below has a little more information for you:

The TGIT crossover event kicks off with an all-new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” entitled “What I Did for Love,” where Maggie treats one of Station 19’s own, and Jo learns a hard lesson. Meanwhile, when working with a family seeking asylum, Meredith makes a call that could jeopardize her career on “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, MAY 2 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George, Boris Kodjoe and Brett Tucker guest star.

(For those interested in additional behind-the-scenes info, this is the episode directed by Jesse Williams.)

This episode is going to bleed into the next part, entitled “Always Ready.” Check out the details:

The second hour of the TGIT crossover event is an all-new episode of “Station 19,” entitled “Always Ready.” Following a deadly blaze inside a coffee beanery, the members of Station 19 find themselves on high alert as a beloved member of their team lands at Grey Sloan, leaving the future uncertain in the face of a life-threatening situation, on “Station 19,” THURSDAY, MAY 2 (9:01-10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. Brett Tucker, Kelly McCreary and Jake Borelli guest star.

We don’t know how much of a full-fledged “crossover” you should really think of these episodes as, mostly because it seems like you’re really just getting a small handful of Grey’s Anatomy characters on the second hour and not so much all of the heavy hitters. Shocked by this? Probably not, since we imagine that getting a guest-star rate for all of the Grey’s Anatomy cast to appear on an episode of a show other than their own is not too easy. They should just be lucky that they’ve got McCreary, given that she’s approaching heavy-hitter status now that she’s been on the medical drama for a little while now.

The obvious appeal for Station 19 getting another crossover (they had one themed around a case/crisis earlier this season) is the ratings bump. That came around the first time and, more than likely, it’s something that we’re going to have a chance to see once more. Anything to help the show get that magic green light for another season!
