Is Chicago Med new tonight on NBC? Season 4 episode 19 scoop

Chicago Med

Is Chicago Med new tonight? We know the enthusiasm is high for the latest batch of stories set within this hospital, and we certainly know why everyone keeps checking this show out — it’s the characters, the relationships, the cases, and the drama. This show is just one step away from many of its characters constantly having a nervous breakdown and based on more current indications, that’s not going to be changing anytime soon.

Alas, we’re just not going to be able to see the next phase of it tonight since there is no new episode on the air. While it may have just felt like we were on hiatus with Chicago Med, the bad news is that we’re getting another one now. The series is out of commission this week and next (at least when it comes to new episodes) and it will return come April 24 with an installment sure to make everyone beyond nervous.

We’ve told you a few things about “Never Let You Go” already, most notably that this is an episode where a hostage situation breaks out at the hospital and Goodwin may be the only person who can resolve it. You can see the promo for this episode over here, and the synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below hints at a personal development for one other important character within the world of this show:

04/24/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : The hospital goes into lockdown mode when a man with a gun holds medical staff hostage. Goodwin is forced to make a tough decision. Dr. Rhodes begins to realize his time with his father is getting short.

It’s already pretty clear that for Connor, the idea of losing his father will stir up all sorts of emotions in him. How could it not? We’re talking about a guy who doesn’t have the greatest memories of from the past several years — he’s been a pretty terrible father and that’s without even factoring in all of the Ava stuff. Sure, he’s rich and hugely successful within the business world, but we think that this is one of the finest “money can’t buy love” examples out there. All it’s bought him instead is power and for Dr. Rhodes, he likes to think that everything that he’s done as a surgeon is stuff that he’s done for himself. That’s probably a reason he entered this field in the first place, and one of the reasons why the situation with the hybrid OR and him staying at the hospital is as delicate as it is now.

We’re going to have difficulty watching Connor have a hard time in this episode, though for fans of Colin Donnell, this could be a great opportunity to see him take on material that is raw, painful, and reduces this character to perhaps the fears that he had as a little boy. At some point in his life, he may have felt differently about his dad than he does now and it’s going to be interesting to see how this all unfolds.
