The Flash season 5 episode 19 spoilers: Icicle returns in ‘Snow Pack’

Kyle Secor

You’ve been likely wondering just when Icicle would be coming back to The Flashand here’s your simple answer: Season 5 episode 19. The April 23 episode “Snow Pack” is when Caitlin’s father — or at least what little of the man is actually left — returns to Central City and at this point, Caitlin’s going to have to figure out how best to take him down once and for all.

As you would imagine, she’s going to need a little bit of help to make that happen, and that includes from some people she’s not used to getting just a whole lot of assistance from. Want some more insight? Then check out the official “Snow Pack” synopsis below:

ICICLE RETURNS – When Icicle (guest star Kyle Secor) returns to enact the next phase of his devious plan, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and her mother, Dr. Carla Tannhauser (guest star Susan Walters), must resolve their long-combative relationship to defeat the icy monster. After Barry (Grant Gustin) makes a big decision about their family without consulting her, Iris (Candice Patton) decides to take matters into her own hands. Jeff Cassidy directed the episode written by Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza (#519). Original airdate 4/23/2019.

Maybe in working with her mother to stop her father, maybe Caitlin and Dr. Tannhauser can actually find a way to resolve a lot of their problems and better understand where each other is coming from … though we’re also not altogether sure that either one of them is going to have a lot of time to sit around and think about emotional upheaval or events of the past. When you are in this situation, we imagine that more so than anything, the urge to survive has a tendency to take over. That’s what you’re thinking about and beyond just that, this is what you are mostly striving for.

As for what’s going on with Barry and Iris…

This wouldn’t be the first time this season that Barry has sped off in his own direction with consulting someone else properly. Doesn’t that make some sense? This is a guy who’s facing a lot of emotional upheaval of his own after being tricked by his daughter for the better part of the season, even if she didn’t mean anything malicious by some of what she did. He’s just not going to be in the sort of position where he’s altogether patient or willing to understand where people are coming from. He needs to get answers … and of course also do what he can to stop Cicada once and for all, especially since this new version seems to be even more powerful and determined. Orlin was one problem; Grace is a totally separate one who’s spent the better part of her life being trained in the ways of revenge.

If you missed it…

Head over here to get the first details about “Goodspeed,” the first episode following the hiatus airing on April 16. It seems exciting, but The CW’s been super-coy sharing details, especially about the title villain.
