Blindspot season 4 episode 18 preview: Bill Nye returns!

With Blindspot season 4 episode 18 next week, there’s a great deal to be excited about. Most notably, there’s an opportunity to see Bill Nye back on the show! As someone who remembers growing up with this man, we’re always going to find ourselves thrilled to see him turn up on this show as Patterson’s father. As for precisely why we’re going to be seeing him, that’s one of the remaining mysteries.

04/12/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Friday) : Bill Nye reprises his role as Patterson’s (Ashley Johnson) father in a case that pits the team against a pestiferous foe. Zapata (Audrey Esparza) goes rogue with an old friend as Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) continue their search for the hooded figure. Also starring Sullivan Rob Brown as Edgar Reade and Ennis Esmer as Rich DotCom. TV-14 V

Obviously, Nye’s return is going to come with some laughter and a sense of adventure — also, probably a lot of science. The rest of the episode should prove to have plenty of reasons for excitement, as well, mostly in that we already know somewhat what a rogue Zapata looks like and it’s a chance to shake things up even more as we get into this home stretch.

We probably don’t even have to tell you at this point that we’re in a pivotal time when it comes to Blindspot — we may be in the MOST pivotal time of the show’s entire history. We don’t know if there will be a season 5 (we remain hopeful) and beyond that, there are still questions aplenty surrounding whether or not this season will end in a way that feels satisfying and like there is a sense of actual closure. Right now, we’re looking more at an ending riddled with various question marks and thought bubbles. We know where we are now, but not what is meant to be on the horizon. This is where we throw our faith over to the writers that they have another gear, another evolution coming — something to blow our minds and to dare NBC to make a move, provided of course that they haven’t done this already.

Perhaps the best thing about the upcoming episode (save of course for Nye) is that you don’t have to wait for a substantially-long period of time for it. We’re at a time in the season now where hiatuses are going to be a little less commonplace. Rejoice to that, and to whatever is coming up for us to smile about.
