Outlander season 5: How should Starz commemorate it filming?

OutlanderWe’re at the point in Outlander season 5 where we are firmly in “we’ll take whatever we can get” territory. It’s hard to really be thinking anything else at the moment! The series just had its first table read and, before too long, we’re hoping to see some reports start to trickle in about some scenes being shot — either in parts of the studio or in some various locales in Scotland.

So the question that we have to wonder now is this: What should Starz do in order to better commemorate work getting underway? The first thing to be cognizant of here is the obvious fact that Outlander has one of the most passionate, dedicated followings out of any show on television. They are the sort who will do everything that they can in order to follow things along on the road to production, especially since they will be otherwise suffering through one of the longest Droughtlanders that we’ve ever seen. Just think about how far in the distance season 5 probably is at the moment, let alone the past few months of waiting we’ve endured already. (We’ve already said this, but we personally feel like we’ve been through the hardest part of the process already. Waiting for filming to actually start is the worst.)

For some more discussion on Outlander getting back to work, this time in video form… Check out what we’ve got at the bottom of this article! We’d like to think that the folks over at Starz have something a little bit special cooked up for this particular event and with that, we come bearing some suggestions here! Read on for more…

1. Some sort of recorded message – This is probably what we’d prefer — something nice from Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and some other cast members telling everyone they’re back at work making the next batch of episodes some of the best that we’ve seen. It’s easy to do that without giving anything away!

2. A behind-the-scenes picture – These are always welcome, and maybe doing this would be the network’s way of at least teasing what one of the early scenes in season 5 could look like.

3. Just a retweet of something one of the cast members does themselves – We gotta think that this is a possibility and they won’t do anything too crazy, mostly because during production, time is of the essence. They have to spend so much time trying to make the new season great that it remains to be determined just how much of an opportunity everyone’s going to have to craft something special for the fans.

For us, we just think it would be nice for Starz to put out something exclusive and official to commemorate the start of production. They’ve had a tendency to do cool little things before and with the wait for season 5 being what it is, this could be a nice little appetizer for the meal that is coming a LONG time in the future.
