Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 20 preview: Megan Hunt returns

Grey's Anatomy season 14

When Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 20 airs on ABC, the series will be taking a step forward following tonight’s painful episode. It’s not 100% clear when or even if the events of “Silent All These Years” will apply to the show in the near future; that’s a decision for the Jo character to make and we, as a viewer, want to respect that just as we would if Jo is a normal person out in the world.

Based on the information that is out there about this episode, it does seem as though Grey’s Anatomy is going to be focusing on characters and situations that were not all that present tonight. For more on that, check out the official synopsis below:

Owen and Teddy have to deal with the surprise arrival of Megan Hunt, who knows nothing about their situation. Catherine preps for her first surgery back on a war veteran who’s not emotionally prepared for his procedure. Meredith worries about DeLuca operating alone with Richard.

The return of Abigail Spencer to the show is always a welcome one, largely because we are speaking about a character here who carries with her so much history. We also do wonder why in the world Owen hasn’t told her about Teddy’s pregnancy — they’re siblings! We understand that they went through that long period of time in which he thoughts she was dead, but the two are in a very different place now. We’d think that he would want to tell her everything, even if it’s something that is somewhat difficult like “Teddy and I had a one-night stand and she is now pregnant with my baby.” Babies are worthy of celebrating and everyone here is an adult.

As for everything else within this episode, bringing Catherine back to the operating room is a necessary step in her recovery. We recognize that there are probably better ways for her to deal with her recovery; yet, at the same exact time this is more of the Catherine Fox we know. She doesn’t like to sit down, and she certainly doesn’t want to be out of the operating room. This is where she, perhaps, feels the most like home, and the last thing that she wants is for something like a cancer battle to keep her out of it forever.

As for Meredith and DeLuca, the question you have to wonder here is why. What’s wrong with Andrew and Richard working together? Is there a specific series of events within this hour that are going to unfold? Andrew is in a difficult spot following what happened with his father, and maybe that is occupying a certain degree of real estate within her mind.
