Aaron Paul (still) staying mum on Breaking Bad movie rumors
The prevailing rumor that is over shadowing everything is that the movie will feature Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, and fittingly follow up the events of the Breaking Bad series finale. What happens next for Jesse after fleeing the scene? This could constitute the story … at least if many fans have their way. This is certainly the story that most people seem to want told. All realistic options suggest that Jesse would probably be arrested mere minutes after taking off, but the great thing about Breaking Bad is that not only does it make the impossible possible, but it also makes it believable. They have a real knack for being able to make some of the craziest stories imaginable work.

If you’re wanting to get some more information via Aaron Paul himself, we come bearing some bad news — the man is a vault! Speaking via Variety this week at the Sun Valley Film Festival, the Emmy-winner threw a little bit of cold water on the idea that anything is finalized just yet:
“Rumors are funny — I once heard a rumor that I was being cast as Han Solo … I haven’t heard anything about the Breaking Bad movie, but if there is one and it comes together, I’d love to be a part of it. If it were to happen, yes, I would love to do it.”
Let’s play a game here of the Transitive Property of Television. There is no Breaking Bad movie just yet, but if there is, Aaron Paul would love to be a part of it. Paul does seem to acknowledge the idea that one could be in the works — he just says that he hasn’t had any discussions involving one. In putting everything together, we like to imagine him mentally preparing to play Jesse again, even if no formal offer has come in at the moment. We don’t want to generate wishful thinking, but a Jesse movie just makes the most sense out of anything within the Breaking Bad universe. The only other loose end that even comes close is seeing what happens with Gene in the future on Better Call Saul, and the answer there could be “nothing” and he just goes about his life without a care in the world. We’re still a believer in the theory that eventually Kim Wexler will seek him out and with that, kick off an epic story of redemption for Gene where he recognizes the mistakes of his past and makes different choices this time around. We already have a number of articles all about this.
