NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 17 video: Meet Kensi’s friends!
There’s a good chance, if you’re a longtime viewer, that you have heard the names Cat, Mindy, Mandy, Tiffany, and Tiffany mentioned on the show before. They’ve been in Kensi’s life for a while, and a reminder that while you see a lot of her life on the series, there are some other elements carefully placed off-screen. If there hasn’t been much drama when it comes to Kensi’s friends away from the job, why would the camera really focus on them?
This sneak peek below is mostly all about Kensi and her friends as they are very excited to see her in her dress, getting ready for the big day! It’s nice that she does have a core group of people around her as she celebrates. After all, we’ve seen so much of the planning process told through the perspective of Deeks and his mom that it’s nice to get these other voices. Kensi’s got supportive friends! That much is clear, and it’s refreshing in some ways to see a TV character have a large support system given how isolated some characters often feel. They often want to give you a comprehensive picture of someone’s life on-screen but in doing so, there are only so many different elements that can be shown.
We’ve noted before that this episode is one that needs to be on some sort of top-ten list down the road, mostly because the journey’s been so long to get here and expectations are so high. We do think that the entire team is at least aware of this, and it’s reflected a little bit further in what LL Cool J had to say about it to Entertainment Weekly:
“This is one of the most important and attractive storylines to a lot of fans … They love the connection between Kensi and Deeks. Anyone who knows anything about marriage knows this is just the beginning.”
Seeing Kensi’s friends is just one of many callbacks to characters, places, and things within the greater NCIS: LA world. While this wedding is a celebration of the present, it’s also a trip down nostalgia lane! We’re going to learn more about the long-mysterious box and there could be Easter eggs aplenty (which is great, given that Easter really is right around the corner).
