NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 17 exclusive sneak peek: Kensi reflects before the wedding!

Weddings are a wonderful moment in anyone’s life — it’s a celebration of love, and one often shared with the people you care about the most! It’s a convergence of so many wonderful things, and on Sunday’s NCIS: Los Angeles, you’ll see Deeks and Kensi moving into the next new chapter of their lives together and while there will most certainly be some iconic moments that will require viewers to grab a tissue or two there will also likely be some action and bad guys to put away. You can’t really have one on this show without the other.

In the exclusive sneak peek that we have for you below from Sunday’s episode (be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more), you can add one other sentiment to the list that we’ve been looking forward to with this episode: Nostalgia. Weddings are a time in which to reflect on some of the events leading up to this moment, and this is where Kensi Blye is. She’s feeling overwhelmed leading up to her wedding and finds a retreat in a place that’s become somewhat of a sanctuary for the whole group: The bar. It’s been around for less than a year and yet, it feels like it could’ve been around forever. It’s also led to more Roberta Deeks, which we’ll always co-sign for since she adds another dose of humor and heart to everything.

Here, Mama Deeks helps Kensi feel a lot more comfortable and helps her get prepared for what’s to come, reminding her of how much her son loves her while she reflect on some of the men in her life she wishes could’ve been a part of it. She thinks about her father (who died long before she became a federal agent) and then also Owen Granger, who was originally set to walk her down the aisle on her big day before his own passing. This preview gives us as viewers an opportunity to reflect back on both her and the show’s history — the cold case of her father’s death was finally put to rest back in season 3, and with the late Miguel Ferrer a part of the series for many years, this was a great acknowledgement of his presence and impact on Kensi’s life. We absolutely miss Granger and we’re sure many out there feel the same way as we do.

While there is a lot of reflection and emotion in this preview, there’s also still room for a few laughs — most notably when Kensi’s ex-fiancé is brought up. (The words “Jack” and “Shepherd” are used in such proximity here that we almost feel like it’s a reference to Lost — though we say that as someone who actively sees Lost in almost everything.)

Just from watching this preview, you’re probably going to get a feeling that Sunday’s episode is going to be one for the ages — and hopefully, no box will be left unopened. We’ve already given you another preview discussion all about the infamous box, one of the series’ longest-lasting mysteries. We love that this started as something so simple, but it evolved into one of the most meaningful cornerstones of the Kensi/Deeks relationship. Watch for the action, or watch for the vows — either way, you’re going to leave Sunday night’s episode with a smile on your face. This episode feels like one for the books, and could be making a few top-ten lists when we make it to the end of the series’ run — which hopefully, is still not for many more years to come.
