Chicago Fire season 7 episode 17 spoilers: Casey vs. Herrmann in ‘Move a Wall’

Chicago Fire season 7

Calling all One Chicago fans! After a long hiatus, Chicago Fire season 7 episode 17 is set to arrive on NBC come Wednesday, March 27 … and we’re getting a good sense as to why this is worth the wait. In this episode, you’re going to get some of the following:

-Drama between Casey and another firefighter, something that always be compelling (even if it makes us sad to see our firehouse family fight).

-Kidd and Severide working together — it may not be enough for some Stellaride ‘shippers out there, but we consider it a start. You gotta accelerate the rebuilding process somehow, right?

-The aftermath of a breakup for Sylvie Brett.

-A character’s home life! We don’t get enough of that, but really, how much can producers really give us when they have to balance out fires and people almost dying all the time?

For some specifics to go along with all of our teasers, check out the official Chicago Fire season 7 episode 17 synopsis below:

03/27/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : Tensions run high between Casey and Herrmann after the firehouse responds to an apartment complex fire. After discovering something extremely suspicious during the call, Kidd and Severide do some investigating and get CPD on the case. Brett struggles to deal with her emotions while Herrmann’s wife, Cindy, hopes to get her interior design business on track by taking a stab at redoing the common room. TV-14 V

The best part of this synopsis is the final part with Herrmann’s wife, mostly because of the tremendous mental image it produces. Think about the common room as something that’s really artsy, colorful, bright, and exactly the opposite of what we know 51 to be. Then, imagine what the reaction to this would be from someone like Mouch, a man so mired in tradition that he likes to sit in the same exact place EVERY TIME. Do you really think he’s going to like Extreme Makeover: Firehouse 51 Edition? Hard to really imagine that.

As for how worried you should be over Casey vs. Herrmann, they’re adults. Odds are, they’ll find a way to figure this out.

Crossover potential

Given that Chicago PD is explicitly mentioned within the synopsis, it’s hard to fathom us getting this whole story without one member of Intelligence popping in and saying “hello.” There’s a rather-funny way in which these crossovers come out, one that involves producers of one show having to go to another in order to see who could be available on a given day at a certain time. Often, the crossovers are written in a way that different people can do them — it’s more flexible that way! The only person in Intelligence at this point that is somewhat problematic is Antonio, mostly because of his history with Brett and also everything that happened with Dawson’s exit. Bring him over and it’s hard for that stuff to stay buried.
