‘Downton Abbey’ season 3: Want to see more on weddings?

If there has been one major theme this season on “Downton Abbey,” it has been watching some various characters tie the knot. First, it was Matthew and Mary during the season premiere in a ceremony that certainly was successful (even if we tragically did not get to see it on television). Following that, it was the tragic ceremony between Edith and Sir Anthony that never really ended up happening last week. (As a matter of fact, we’re still tearing up about it.)

Do you want to find out some more information about the ceremonies that took place? If you live in the UK, you can check out a behind-the-scenes featurette all about preparing for these grand occasions, which were filmed at St Mary’s Church in Bampton, over at the link here. Another benefit? they also ask a question that just about everyone really wants to know: is it possible for Edith to ever really find happiness?

While the path for Matthew and Mary does seem at least a little bit clearer now that Dan Stevens’ character is taking on more of an ownership role for the Abbey (which likely means that Mary will be remaining there herself for some time), things are a tad more up in the air for Edith. What we can tell you as that she will not thankfully be miserable forever, and she may even be handed a rather interesting opportunity just a week from Sunday that could alter her life in many ways. By the end of this season, the pictures for both of these young women in the Crawley family should be a little bit clearer.
