Is NCIS: New Orleans new tonight? Previewing Hannah’s big story

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 premiere

Is NCIS: New Orleans new tonight on CBS? For those expecting to tune in and see a great Hannah Khoury storyline, we come bearing some rather sad news.

While it would have been rather great to have another episode of the show coming on the air tonight, the unfortunate truth is that it’s just not happening. The even more unfortunate truth is that originally, there was supposed to be one. CBS changed up a part of their schedule at the last minute, meaning that shows that were originally supposed to air new episodes tonight are now being moved around and airing next week. It was a strange, sudden, and super last-minute development when we first learned about it, mostly because press releases even indicated that there were going to be episodes airing tonight. (That has since changed, but it made for a rather confusing situation when we first saw previews last week.)

What’s also a bummer is that there’s not even a repeat of NCIS: New Orleans airing tonight — CBS currently has scheduled two repeats of FBI airing after a repeat of the flagship show. We do understand the thirst for wanting to build up that franchise, but it doesn’t make us any less bummed-out. We like our New Orleans escapism, plus also getting hungry every week for Cajun food!

So what’s happening when NCIS: New Orleans does return?

You will have a chance to see a very important episode entitled “Survivor,” and it is going to continue what we just learned about last week with Hannah Khoury. A dangerous ghost from her past has resurfaced and throughout this episode, she’s going to have to contend with some of these demons — including one she previously thought was dead. Her future is on the line, as is her reputation. It’s a surprise for the show to bring you this serialized of an arc right in the middle of the season, but we certainly do appreciate the opportunity to dive into Hannah’s past and see what she’s trying to move past. This is traumatic; we know that many agents see terrible things and go through horrors that most people could never imagine. There are still those missions, and those cases that ring through your ears in the darkest hours of the night when you’re trying to sleep. This could be it for Hannah, and it is certainly something that she is going to have to contend with.

The one thing we’re hoping for her within this episode (you can see more details on it here) is that she realizes along the way that she is not alone. There are a lot of people who have her back and will do anything to help her through this re-emerging crisis where her past may destroy her present. She’s just gotta keep her head on straight, stay focused on her family (she will go into protective custody at one point), and allow others to do their jobs.

On the other side of all of this, maybe the horror story ends and Hannah can go back to having the job she wants and the job she cherishes.
