Supergirl season 4 episode 14 preview: ‘Stand and Deliver’

Supergirl season 4 episode 3

Want to know what’s coming up on Supergirl season 4 episode 14? Well, the focal point of this story is a political struggle. This is woven into the fabric of this entire season, but you could see it come to a head in “Stand and Deliver.” Supergirl is going to find herself in the middle between the Elite and the Children of Liberty — the first group wants to destroy the anti-alien movement, whereas the second group wants to destroy all aliens. This is going to be a chaotic episode and by the end of it, there could be tears — and there could be surprises.

What’s interesting to us here at CarterMatt is the synopsis below, given that it manages to tell you a whole lot while also telling you very little:

SUPERGIRL TAKES A STAND – Between Ben Lockwood’s (Sam Witwer) new push to stir up the anti-alien movement and the Elite’s desire to target Lockwood and his minions, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is concerned about the safety of the American people – both human and alien. When Lockwood organizes a rally, the aliens decide to peacefully protest. Brainiac (Jesse Rath) and J’onn (David Harewood) join the alien march while Supergirl and Dreamer (Nicole Maines) patrol to keep everyone safe. Meanwhile, James (Mehcad Brooks) picks up his camera again to cover the march for CatCo, and Hayley (April Parker Jones) assigns Alex (Chyler Leigh) a job that clashes with her beliefs. When The Elite and Ben Lockwood stir up trouble at the rally, Supergirl is forced to take a stand. Jonathan Bennett guest stars. Andi Armaganian directed the episode written by Rob Wright & Jess Kardos (#414). Original airdate 3/10/2019.

What we mean by this synopsis not saying very much is that it’s hard to know where the writers are taking all of this. We know there’s going to be a rally, but what happens at the rally? Is there a new villain who is going to surface at some point?

Beyond all of that, maybe this episode is going to offer up some nostalgia courtesy of Jonathan Bennett. The former Mean Girls star is making an appearance as a man who finds himself mixed up in the situation, and may end up having some heart-to-hearts with Supergirl before the story ends. This was filmed prior to him being a part of Celebrity Big Brother, for those wondering about the timing of it.

How long will this Alex – Hayley storyline last?

We do kinda feel like we’re just going around in circles time and time again with this, and we’re not entirely sure just where it is meant to be going and if there is anything more that can be done to advance it along a little bit faster. Really, we just want to see Alex be in charge of running the ship.
