Is Blue Bloods new tonight? Jamie, Eddie’s season 9 episode 16 story

Blue Bloods season 9

Is Blue Bloods season 9 episode 16 new tonight? We didn’t get a chance to see the show last week, so it would certainly be nice to dive into the world of the Reagans tonight…

Unfortunately, that isn’t something that we are going to see happen. The show is once more off the air tonight, with the key difference this week being that there are no new episodes of any CBS show coming up. We’re seeing a a bit of a hiatus … but it’s at least a short-lived one (as opposed to the one that is coming later in March due to college basketball). Blue Bloods will return next week with “Past Tense,” a story will put some of the past characters through some peril — especially Jamie and Eddie. Their past is somehow going to come back to bite them, as indicated by the synopsis that you can check out below:

“Past Tense” – After a woman is murdered in her apartment, Danny and Baez turn to her daughter, Margo (Lyrica Okano), for help, but instead she complicates the investigation. Also, someone from Jamie and Eddie’s past launches a smear campaign against them, and a mobster shows up in the DA’s office claiming to be Anthony’s long-lost brother, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, March 8 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Who would want to do something to these two? There are a number of intriguing possibilities. Take, for starters, a criminal who they previously put away when they were partners, or maybe a criminal’s family member who is looking for some sort of revenge. Meanwhile, you could also point towards someone from their old precinct who has a vendetta, or maybe someone who just so happened to stumble upon their relationship status. If you’re going to run a smear campaign, that means that you’re either going to distort facts or potentially just make some up.

This episode could be the one where the rubber meets the road for Jamie and Eddie. Incredibly, they have been able to keep their engagement out of the public eye for the past nine or ten months. How long can they really continue to keep that up? Sooner or later, their fellow officers are going to find out about it … and there is a chance that they could feel hurt on the other side. We certainly understand that they were under no obligation to tell anyone the truth … but that isn’t going to stop someone from feeling a little hurt about it. Working together can feel like being a part of the family, and if that family trust is broken it’s hard to get that back.

If the precinct finds out that Jamie and Eddie are engaged, it’s going to be harder on her than it is him. All of a sudden, she will have to contend with hate from people claiming that she’s getting special treatment because of who she is with (hence them keeping it a secret for so long).

Are you disappointed that Blue Bloods is not coming up on the air tonight? Be sure to sound off right now in the comments.
