The Orville season 2 episode 10 preview: Can Ed work with the Krill?

Orville

What’s coming on The Orville season 2 episode 10? For starters, there is an opportunity to see peace between humanity and the Krill. It may or may not be possible, but why not give it a good shot?

Before we go any further, it is probably of value to talk a little bit further on how we got here in the first place. At the conclusion of tonight’s episode, it was revealed that the Krill were one of the saviors for all of the human race. Granted, the Krill were acting in their own self-interest at the same time, but why not let them just take the win here? They helped to stop the Kaylon and because of that, there’s hope that they and humanity can finally get on the same page again rather than constantly fighting, tooth and nail, to see who reigns supreme.

The two parties do still have a common enemy — after all, the Kaylon are far from gone. They’ve just been temporarily detained and are off in full retreat mode. The big question to ponder over now is if the Orville and the Krill can maintain this cease-fire … or even go a step further and call it peace.

Below, CarterMatt does have the official The Orville season 2 episode 10 synopsis with a little more insight:

Ed must initiate peace talks with the Krill in the all-new “Blood of Patriots” episode of THE ORVILLE airing Thursday, March 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (ORV-209) (TV-14 L, V)

Now that we are getting so close to the end of the season (it’s hardly as though there are a ton of episodes left), you do have to wonder this: Will Seth MacFarlane and the writers really keep this thing moving in this exact direction for the rest of the season? Will they drift the story off into some other places? We do think that there is a case for a serialized arc now to close things off — many of the supporting characters have had their spotlight stories, and we don’t necessarily think that continuing down this road altogether negates more of them, either. What the writers could do moving forward is create almost the perfect The Orville cocktail, one where you get some stories featuring the quest to stop the Kaylon alongside what’s going on with Kelly, Gordon, or some other key players.

No matter where the story goes from here, kudos to the team for setting the stage for some epic, exciting battles to come. If the Krill and the human race are on the same side, there is something fun that could come with that since it’s new. Even if they don’t, we already know that the two parties squaring off is certainly good for business.
