The Blacklist season 6 episode 11 spoilers: Bastien Moreau returns

Remember Bastien Moreau on The Blacklist? This criminal (pictured above) is otherwise known as the Corsican, and it seems as though he’s going to be rearing his head once more on season 6 episode 11, an episode fitting named “Bastien Moreau.” (he must be very important since he’s received two separate episodes named after him!)

Want to catch up on The Blacklist– If you want a preview for what is coming up next, we have that for you in our new video at the bottom of this article! A good way to ensure that you stay up-to-speed with our weekly video updates on the show is by subscribing to CarterMatt on YouTube (we have some really interesting theory discussion going on over there!).

So what will be coming in this chapter of Moreau’s story? Well, the Blacklist season 6 episode 11 synopsis seems to tie the character to an assassination plot that could have Raymond Reddington squarely involved:

03/15/2019 (09:00 PM – 10:00 PM) (Friday): Liz (Megan Boone) and the Task Force make a play to uncover the truth about an international assassination in a last-ditch effort to save Red’s (James Spader) life. Christopher Lambert, Jennifer Ferrin and Benito Martinez guest star.

That’s a fairly short synopsis and yet, there is a good bit to break down within it. Take, for example, whether or not Reddington is still in prison. If he’s still behind bars, could Moreau really get to him? We know that he’s fairly well-insulated there, which is the end result of his own exceptional charisma and ability to get himself out of any problem. Yet, the promo for the next new episode (airing on March 8) shows Reddington doing what he can in order to bust out of prison … or at least so it seems.

The more Reddington is locked up, no doubt the safer he is; yet, there’s another thought driving him: The betrayal that he wants answers to. He knows full well that he can’t just send Dembe to do all of his dirty work (some of it, but not all of it) — he’s gotta get out, socialize, intimidate, and do everything else a criminal mastermind does to get answers. The desire to do that may be more present than any sort of inherent danger.

One final thought

Is Reddington sick? It’s been a long time since we’ve discussed this, but there was a discussion at the end of “The Pharmacist” that suggested that he may be something wrong with him that was causing him to help fund some important research. The show hasn’t quite picked up on it since, and maybe there’s another reason for the funding that isn’t quite clear. That mostly comes to mind now in these conversations of mortality. If something is wrong with Reddington’s health, then there is no clear difference between being behind the safety of a jail cell or being out in his natural habitat. He may feel the life-or-death stakes before him either way.
