Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 16 video: Danny, Tani at Mermaid Camp!

Mermaids. They’re the subject of global fascination with beautiful Disney movies, and also a terrifying Freeform series called Siren where they are predators. They may want to be “where the people are,” but apparently, within the world of Hawaii Five-0, everyone wants to be like them. They want to experience the world through their fictional eyes, which is why they’re willing to pay exorbitant amounts of money at a mermaid camp to make it happen. They just want to dip their fins into that sea for even just a few minutes.

This is the foundation for season 9 episode 16 airing on CBS come Friday night … and this is also the subject of the latest sneak peek that we have for you below.

This sneak peek introduces you to a Gwendoline Baker, a 33-year old woman who worked with a health and beauty company. Did we mention that she’s also dead? Well, she is. Dunzo. She rented out the mermaid camp for all of her sales team and based on Noelani’s estimation at the scene, she was killed with rat poison. Who would kill someone right in the middle of mermaid camp, thus tainting the fun and the whimsy of these mythical creatures forever? Someone desperate, and also someone desperate to blend in with the in-crowd. That’s what the remainder of the Five-0 team has to figure out. Danny Williams and Tani Rey are on the scene, and this should prove to be a really fun case to dive in to.

Tani loves mermaids – who knew? Well, actually, the photo above actually gives that away. Note that this is from a separate part of the episode and not from the teaser; maybe at some point she decides that the time is right to make her mermaid dreams come true. All of this seems like a lovely idea while out in the water, but what do you do when you want to get on land? Seems like a lot of stumbling and/or creating viral videos is likely to happen.

Tani also has a connection to the health and beauty company – The sneak peek cuts off before all the info is handed down, but she reacts strongly to the necklace Baker is wearing. That should be a clue that this, in one way or another, is tied to her past.

What else should you know about Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 17?

If you guessed that this murder is setting up a possible pyramid scheme, then ding ding ding! You are correct. This is something that could easily be tied into the murder case, at least in terms of a possible motive. The team better stay attuned to the world around them in order to figure this out.
