We know that the weather has been far from great around most of the country as of late, so why not just settle in with some quality television and some beloved characters? Escape the wintry weather and head off to the islands.

There is, of course, a lot to look forward to when it comes to these episodes, but it’s also worth noting that the second one of these episodes was directed by none other than Alex O’Loughlin. It’s not the first installment of the show that he’s ever helmed, but we do think that it’s still notable anytime that he takes the role on. It gives the show that much more of a personal touch from someone who clearly knows it. That’s what happens when you’ve been a part of the world for the period of time that he has.
Below, you can take a look at both episodes that are coming — it feels like you’ve got some good personal stories for a number of different characters in here.
Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 16 – “Hapai ke kuko, hanau ka hewa” – When the top salesperson for a beauty company/pyramid scheme is murdered, Five-0 sifts through a long list of possible suspects who would want her dead. Also, Adam befriends a homeless man estranged from his family, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Feb. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
For those who want a great Adam storyline separate from any of the drama last season, this looks to be it.
Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 17 – “E’ao lu’au a kualima” – Junior is torn between his duties as a member of Five-0 and his feelings for his former girlfriend when her new love, the father of her son, is one of the culprits in a bank-heist-turned-homicide, on HAWAII FIVE-0, at a special time Friday, Feb. 22 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Episode directed by series star Alex O’Loughlin.
It makes sense that the second episode of the two be focused on someone other than Alex, mostly because it’s so difficult to direct yourself — especially on one of these shows where you are on such a rigid schedule due to the nature of the work.
