More Absentia season 2 premiere dates revealed; still waiting on US

Absentia season 2

Is this week turning out to be the week of Absentia? It certainly seems that way, just from all of the premiere announcements and we couldn’t be more thrilled since this is one of our favorite shows on Amazon.

We recently discussed the first trailer for the upcoming second season of the Stana Katic series, alongside some of the first premiere dates. Now, we have more dates for a number of AXN stations all over the world, whether it be Brazil, Mexico, Poland, Romania, or a few others. For most of these networks, you’re going to have a chance to see the show this spring.

The tweet that we have for you below (which has all of the premiere-date information) also does reveal the official translation of the series slogan, which we’ve talked about in the past: “The Damage is Done. The Danger Remains.” That’s ominous, and also appropriate. There’s no way for Emily Byrne (Stana Katic) to move away from some of what she’s been through; the past is the past, and the only thing that Emily can effectively do at this point is work to navigate the present and move forward with her life. Given what she’s going to be up against moving forward, that will likely be easier said than done.

So when will we learn about the US premiere date?

Hopefully over the next couple of months, but we imagine that if it was coming in the immediate future, Amazon would’ve brought it up at their recent TCA Winter Press Tour event. We’re predicting that it will come to America following it airing in some other territories, similar to what happened with the first season. It’s understandable to have to wait a little bit longer for it in America, given that Amazon airs all of the episodes at once, which is different from some of these AXN stations that are broadcasting an episode every week. Given how often international territories have to wait for American shows to air there, it only seems right for the tables to be turned to a certain degree.

No matter when the series does launch, we have a pretty good indication from season 1 that it will be worth the wait. Our hope is that this season is bigger, better, and even more dramatic and dark than some of what we ended up seeing the first go-around.
