Absentia season 2 trailer: What Emily Byrne is facing now

Absentia season 2

Today, the first Absentia season 2 trailer surfaced online from the AXN family of networks and it is still bringing that beautiful intensity that the first season did … but even with that short description we just gave you it still doesn’t feel as though we’re doing it justice.

If you look below, you can see the latest saga of one Emily Byrne as we watch the character unlock another mystery that seems to be tied to her past. She’s convinced of it, even though she is warned that by going down this road, she may not be able to find some of the answers she’s seeking — or really, any answers at all. There is a good chance that instead, she may only be left with pain.

Yet, isn’t pain something that Emily knows rather well? We certainly think so judging from what the character went through in season 1, coming back after six years of trauma to learn that much of her life was different. She was able to clear her name, but in the process, showed everyone that she is not the same FBI agent she was back before she was captured. She’s violent, unpredictable, and has no problem going rogue if it means getting the job done. These attributes may make her well-suited for a number of different missions, but at the same time may lead to her rather prone to causing problems. If she makes one wrong move, what few connections she has may soon be gone.

The premiere date for Absentia season 2 varies depending on what territory you are talking about. We know that in some countries (read more about that here), the series will be coming back for new episodes in March. However, there is no stateside release for the show on Amazon just yet. Our hope (keyword: hope) is that we will have a chance to see the Stana Katic series at some point this summer, at the latest. It makes sense that international territories would get to see it first, given that this is a show filmed entirely overseas and is emphasized especially on Sony’s AXN networks. Rest assured, when there is more information on season 2, we will have it for you here. We’re just hoping for a season that is intense, action-packed, and of course, builds on some of the mythology that is already out there. With Stana Katic in the lead, we know that we are in for another beautiful and harrowing performance!

Overall, we absolutely think that this new trailer does a great job of setting the table for everything that is coming up, while also not giving so many spoilers.
