When looking ahead to Supergirl season 4 episode 13, it seems that we’re going to be in for quite a team-up! You’re going to have a team on one side, squaring off against another notable team on the other.

Moving into this episode (which airs on March 1), the #1 thing worth noting is that Manchester Black is a free man and has the assistance of some very-important people: The Hat and Menagerie. Together, the three form The Elite, a trio hellbent on ensuring that some of his goals are met: He wants to destroy some of the anti-alien activists in the only way he knows how: With violence. We’ve come to know already that Manchester is not a particularly patient man and with that, he’s going to do basically what he wants precisely when he wants to do it. Waiting is not something that is a top priority for him.
Luckily, we know already that Supergirl has her own team ready and willing to take him down, and it’s one comprised of herself alongside Brainy, J’onn J’onzz, and then also Nia Nal. Nia may be slightly new to fighting out in the field, but the group does have the numbers advantage … though we still think that Supergirl alone would have a good chance against them given that she does remain the most-powerful character arguably in the entire Arrowverse.
One thing that we do especially love about this promo is Supergirl busting out the term super-friends, something that does almost certainly mean a lot to a certain percentage of people out there. It hits you right in the nostalgia! Beyond all of that, it doesn’t feel like a reference for the sake of making a reference. Instead, it’s something that the character would probably say in some shape or form.
As this episode goes along, we imagine that Supergirl will eventually find a way to thwart The Elite, mostly because there are some other important issues that she’s going to need to take on. Plus, we do still have the presence of Lex Luthor coming a little bit further on down the line and with him being the iconic name he is, we know that he’s capable of all sorts of carnage.
