Do you know how NBC made you wait until January to see the James Spader series in action? As awful as that was, they are clearly trying to make up for it now by giving you a lot of really interesting stories in a short period of time. Two episodes means effectively twice the drama and, in turn, twice the opportunities for the show to shine. The mystery involving Hans Koehler’s nurse — someone who was brought up recently on the show — is going to crawl back into the forefront. To go along with that, there are also going to be some opportunities to shine the light on some other creepy characters. The Blacklist is always going to be that show that delivers you creepiness in all forms.

Below, we’ve got synopses for both episodes, just in case you want to be fully informed on some of what the writers are planning.

The Blacklist season 6 episode 8, “Marko Jankowics” – “02/22/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Friday) : When Liz (Megan Boone) and Jennifer (guest star Fiona Dourif) search for a woman who may know a secret about Red’s (James Spader) past, they find themselves in the cross-hairs of a ruthless smuggler, forcing Liz to ask an unexpected source for help. Meanwhile, Red mediates between two rival gangs in prison. Coy Stewart and Lusia Strus also guest star.”

The Blacklist season 6 episode 9, “Minister D” – “02/22/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Friday) : While Red (James Spader) fights in court to clear his name of treason once and for all, Liz (Megan Boone) and the Task Force investigate a Blacklister who has a reputation for leveraging dark secrets. Ken Leung, Becky Ann Baker and Stephen Spinella guest star.”

The second episode here seems to be the big game-changer when it comes to Reddington’s future. Is this the right time for the character to get out of prison? We do think that it’s beneficial for the show to move past that eventually this season, mostly to raise the stakes for the epic game of cat-and-mouse that Reddington and Liz are in the process of playing.
