‘Shipper Showdown 2019 results: Darvey, Deckerster, Supercorp, Malec, more advance
Over the past couple of weeks, people from across a number of different fandoms have been voting for some of the best ‘ships from their respective show. The results were clear across most of the main categories, and that’s going to set up for a fantastic finale — which fittingly will start tomorrow! Check back at 1:00 p.m. Pacific on February 14 (it’s only fitting that it’s Valentine’s Day) to commence voting on who should be the champion this time around.
For now, though, let’s get to the individual results.
Arrowverse ‘ship – Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor, a.k.a. Supercorp. While some other ‘ships put up a rally good fight, there is no surprise here with Supercorp winning this. The reigning ‘Shipper Showdown champ (let alone the winner of ‘Shiptober 2018) is now moving onward to the final round.
One Chicago ‘ship – Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton, a.k.a. Upstead. This was a pretty close battle between Upstead and Kidd & Severide (Stellaride) from Chicago Fire, but Upstead managed to come out on top and move on to the next round.
Grey’s Anatomy ‘ship – Owen Hart and Amelia Shepherd, a.k.a. Omelia. With 55% of the total vote, we’d consider this a pretty commanding victory — though Jackson & April (Japril) also had a pretty solid showing.
Suits ‘ship – Harvey Specter and Donna Paulsen, a.k.a. Darvey. With over 80% of the vote total, Darvey took home the title in a blowout victory. There was a solid showing for Mike/Harvey fans, as well, but the show’s most-prominent ‘ship moves on.
NCIS franchise ‘ship – Marty Deeks and Kensi Blye, a.k.a. Densi. There was a good battle in this particular showdown, as fans of Callen and Anna’s from NCIS: Los Angeles came out alongside Deeks & Kensi’s. In the end, though, Densi is getting a chance to press onward.
Outlander ‘ship – Jamie and Claire Fraser. It shouldn’t be a surprise that this particular romance topped the list of the show’s best. Their love story is the anchor for the entire series and the reason so many fans tune in.
Gotham ‘ship – Edward Nygma and Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. Nygmobblepot. There are few relationships on television quite as dynamic, or as complicated as this one. The reason it’s so heartbreaking when the two are at odds is that they’ve been so fantastic together. There’s so much still to explore here!
Shadowhunters ‘ship – Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood, a.k.a. Malec. Magnus and Alec lay the foundation for most other couples on this show. Their love story is a stabilizing presence, and the two know that no matter what lies before him, they are always going to have each other.
Lucifer ‘ship – Lucifer Morningstar and Chloe Decker, a.k.a. Deckerstar. This was the final ‘Shipper Showdown battle of the first round, and it really shouldn’t be a shock that the main showcase ‘ship came out with a pretty commanding victory. There’s already excitement about where they will be in season 4!
