The Conners season 2: Johnny Galecki open to appearing again

While The Conners season 2 is not a sure thing at ABC, it does seem as though it’s a foregone conclusion. This is a show that is likely to come back for more, and it seems like one notable name in Johnny Galecki is eager to return in his own right.

With that being said, though, we’re not exactly counting on the actor upping his role to that of a series regular. One of the reasons why his appearances on Roseanne and then The Commers were infrequent was because of his work on The Big Bang Theory — there’s only so much time in his schedule! Yet, with that show ending this spring, there is a chance that things could change to a certain extent … though we’re not sure if they will.

Speaking via TVLine, Galecki made it clear that he may want a little bit of space before becoming a series-regular on another show, and he also recognized the “fortunate” situation he had where he could have a break before choosing another major project. (Technically, Johnny’s probably made so much money from this show that he will never need to work again.) Being a regular does make things a little bit more complicated for actors schedule-wise, given that it does lock your schedule in, to a certain degree. It makes it harder to pick and choose some of your own projects. Recurring, however, gives you a chance to just come and go as you please.

In speaking a little bit further about his future plans for the ABC sitcom, here is what Galecki had to say:

“I certainly hope to visit as much as possible … That’s kind of my second home… I still have a bit of a high school crush on that character.”

The ending of The Conners season 1 certainly made it possible for him to come back as David again in the future, and we feel like that is mostly going to come down to the story. There are likely not any specific scripts written for the next season of the show just yet, mostly because
