NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: Pierce’s Halloween party

We have already reported both ourselves and from our exclusive with Danny Pudi that the season premiere of “Community” is going to be a not-so-subtle nod to “The Hunger Games.” So how is the NBC comedy going to follow this up? Apparently, it’s going to be by putting some of the cast in one of the most terrifying places imaginable: trapped within the confines of a property owned by Pierce Hawthorne.

The second episode of season 4 is going to be entitled “Paranormal Parentage,” and here is the official synopsis courtesy of the network:

“While on their way to Vicki’s (Danielle Kaplowitz) Halloween costume party, the study group makes a detour to Pierce’s (Chevy Chase) mansion when they learn he accidentally locked himself in his panic room. As Pierce languishes behind locked doors, the group searches the dark and eerie house for the book that holds the code to the door. Along the way they encounter a few of the house’s secrets.”

In some ways, this episode already sounds like a combination of “American Horror Story” and one of our favorite game shows growing up in “Legends of the Hidden Temple” … which really makes us thing that we are going to love it. Halloween episodes (or episodes that at least involve the Greendale Seven wearing costumes) traditionally are some of the show’s best installments, with one of our personal standouts being the season 2 “zombie invasion” that featured Troy trying to save one of his friends that was a play on a certain horror cliche about a certain type of person always dying first.

This is not going to be the only episode this season that features some close connections to Pierce’s life, as we also know already that “Breaking Bad” alum Giancarlo Esposito is going to return for an episode as his half-brother. As for what else we are going to see, you’ve probably already heard about the “Inspector Spacetime” convention … but do you know that a fraternity is going to be starting up at the school?

What do you think about the idea behind this episode?
