Lethal Weapon season 3 episode 14 is coming your way on February 19, and we don’t think we can sum up its importance enough. This is the final episode of the series leading to the season finale and it’s one that could test the partnership between Cole and Murtaugh in a big way. If the two of them are going to continue to be partners following this season, they have a lot that they need to work out over this episode and maybe beyond.

So what’s the reason for the tension between the two of them? Judging from the official Lethal Weapon season 3 episode 14 synopsis below, a lot of that has to deal with the return of Tom Barnes, who we know to be a guy who very much has his own agenda — one that may not example be in line with the majority of the team:
Against Murtaugh’s advice, Cole reaches out to Tom Barnes (Mykelti Williamson) to help with a case that hits close to home, putting Murtaugh and Cole’s partnership to the test. Meanwhile, Trish prepares to announce her campaign for District Attorney in the all-new “A Game of Chicken” episode of LETHAL WEAPON airing Tuesday, Feb. 19, (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
If you do love great drama, then at this point, there’s no question that Barnes is going to bring it. We just wonder if the episode title here is a clue that there’s going to be some dramatic back-and-forth between Barnes and Murtaugh as to who Cole should side with. It’s certainly possible that whatever conflict is present here bleeds over to the finale, one that poses a big question to the production — how do you end the show? Do you create a great cliffhanger hoping that there’s another season, or do you tie things up a little more, thinking that you may not have another chance to tell more stories? It’s a decision that just about every bubble show struggles with, and it’s not something that we think the writers are probably going to have an easy time with. We certainly wouldn’t.
For now, though, we’re curious to see if we do see Trish’s D.A. campaign get going by the end of this season, in addition of course to all of the Cole/Murtaugh story. There’s a lot that seems to be happening leading to the finale.
