Jo and Alex

For those of you wondering if Grey’s Anatomy season 15 will feature Jo and Alex happy throughout, we’ve got an answer. For those of you who love seeing the two consistently happy, it may not be the best of news.

In a new post on Twitter (see below), series star Camilla Luddington notes that for those of you wondering when the honeymoon phase of their relationship is going to be over, be careful what you wish for. That’s a pretty clear indication that there is some big trouble coming for the two characters. As for what that specific trouble is, that’s open for speculation — but, we can certainly imagine that there are many different reasons for conflict in the weeks ahead! For starters, we know already that Lindsay Wagner will be returning to the ABC series a little bit later this season as Alex’s mom Helen; meanwhile, there’s also talk about Jo’s parents making an appearance in some shape or form. There’s a lot of good stuff to look forward to, and it wouldn’t really be a major surprise if family ends up being a big source of conflict. That is, after all, what tends to happen when it comes to real life.

Of course, we expect drama when it comes to Grey’s Anatomy, but we do hope that this isn’t the sort of conflict that potentially dooms these characters for the rest of their lives. After all, how much do we really need to see married characters split up on this show? Being married on this show has at times been the kiss of death — look at Cristina & Owen, Meredith & Derek, or Jackson & April. It does seem at least like Ben & Bailey are working through their issues, and Amelia & Owen are trying to move forward after their split and some of the aftermath of that … so maybe there are some beacons of hope as well.

We cannot help it as a TV viewer to have our cake and it, too — we want there to be conflict within relationships; yet, we don’t want the conflict to be such that it devastates characters for the entirety of their lives.
