For starters, who wouldn’t want to see one of the cooler villains so far this season in Menagerie? With the attachment that she has to a symbiotic alien, we do think that this is almost the show’s version of venom. She’s insanely powerful, and it’s going to take a good bit of effort in order to beat her. Luckily, Kara is going to have a little bit of help courtesy of one Nia Nal, who will be suiting up for the first time as Dreamer! While she’s not going to be 100% used to having her powers just yet, we do think that it’s going to fun seeing her out in the field. We just hope that it’s a help a little bit more than a hindrance.

Below, CarterMatt offered up the official Supergirl season 4 episode 12 synopsis with some more thoughts as to what you can expect:

With his P.I. shingle newly hung outside his office, J’onn (David Harewood) welcomes new clients. Trying to take her mind off what happened at the DEO, Kara (Melissa Benoist) decides to team up with J’onn on his latest assignment, which unfortunately ends up tying directly into Alex’s (Chyler Leigh) current investigation that involves the villain Menagerie (guest star Jessica Meraz). Meanwhile, Lena (Katie McGrath) shares some news with James (Mehcad Brooks), but his reaction isn’t what she expected. Nia (Nicole Maines) invites Brainy (Jesse Rath) to her Valentine’s Day party. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Daniel Beaty & Greg Baldwin (#412). Original airdate 2/17/2019.

Obviously, there is going to be a lot of fun in this episode from start to finish via the Valentine’s Day party and also seeing Nia in the field. Yet, there could be some difficult stuff in here still. After all, just remember the fact that Kara cannot be her true self around Alex and because of that, it’s hard for her to be able to be out in the field. It’d be great for there to be some steps forward, but there’s no guarantee that it will ever happen.
