Let’s go ahead and get the bad news out of the way now — you’re going to be waiting for a little while to get Melissa Benoist and the rest of the cast back on the air. There is no new episode next week because of the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, there is no new episode the week after that because of the Grammys. The folks over at the network want to do whatever they can in order to ensure that the ratings are high, and these are two telecasts that could have generated some enormous ratings competition on the other side of it.
At this point, we are starting to get a good sense as to some of what the upcoming schedule is going to be. There will be a new episode airing on Sunday, February 17 — that’s a long time to wait, but that is precisely what makes sense given some of the competition. Given that the Oscars are being held on February 24, we are probably not going to be getting a new episode then.
Given that we know season 4 episode 15 (airing on March 17) will be the arrival of Lex Luthor on the series, we have to estimate the return dates for a number of other episodes along the way. Based on the schedule elsewhere, it’s fair to estimate that 4×12 is on February 17, 4×13 is on March 3, and then 4×14 is on March 10. That sets the stage for the arrival of Lex and some other awesome stuff that is probably coming at some point down the line.
Of course, it’s clear that there are many exciting things worth coming up in these upcoming episodes — for example, the February 17 episode is going to feature the debut of Jessica Meraz as Menagerie, a character who could have some ties to Manchester Black. Meanwhile, you’re also going to see next month the big debut of Nia Nal in costume — Dreamer’s story is about to rise up in a very dramatic way. Remember that the Children of Liberty are also out there, and we have a hard time thinking that this story is going to be concluded anytime soon.
