Arrow season 7 episode 13 preview: The story of ‘Star City Slayer’

Arrow

Life comes at you fast (as Ferris Bueller would say), and that is especially the case if you’re a part of the Arrowverse. Right when you think that the day is saved (or you’re watching a storyline going in one direction) something else comes up and brings us down a different path.

For Arrow season 7 episode 13 (entitled “Star City Slayer”), this may be true more in a meta sense than necessarily with anything that is happening on the actual show itself. After all, we’re spending the better part of tonight diving into the world of a documentary for the 150th episode, and on the other side of that things will roughly go back to normal. The show transforms and becomes more of the same gritty self that it’s been for the better part of the past seven years. That means more challenges for Oliver and the rest of his team, especially when a killer starts to take down various people across the city. This looks like the sort of episode where characters could die, though is really no guarantee of anything.

Below, CarterMatt officially has the Arrow season 7 episode 13 synopsis for more news as to what’s coming up:

THE TEAM IS TARGETED – Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) are disappointed after they learn that William (guest star Jack Moore) is hiding something from them. Wanting to focus on his family, Oliver steps back from his Green Arrow duties and lets the team take over tracking down a serial killer. However, when the team becomes targets for the killer, things take a bloody turn. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Jill Blankenship (#713). Original airdate 2/11/2019.

We hope that this episode will do its part to re-establish some of the central narratives of this season, and then also leave things off in a way that generates a good bit of excitement for the future. For the time being, we know that there is an official renewal for a season 8, but we want to see things build leading up to that. We also want to see them build for more episodes down the line this year, especially since “Star City Slayer” is the final installment before the series takes off for a brief hiatus (if you want to know why shows take these breaks during the season take a look at our video below and subscribe to the CarterMatt YouTube channel for more TV discussion).

It’s going to have its work cut out for it judging from that synopsis … one that seems to indicate that we could end up seeing someone either dead or in some degree of mortal danger. If there’s something shocking at the end of the episode, it will build at least some anticipation towards a potential payoff on the other side.
