The bad news worth noting at present is simply this: There is no new episode of the series coming on Fox in seven days’ time. As for the reasoning why, the simple answer has to do with the fact that there are two hours of Hell’s Kitchen coming up on Fox February 8. This is temporarily displacing Tim Allen and company, but you will have a chance to see the series back with new episodes starting on Friday, February 15 … and we do mean “episodes.” There are two installments airing back to back on that day! They seem to be two separate stories in some ways but are linked at least in a way that Fox likes. They may just be viewing this as a chance to make up for the repeat next week, and to capitalize on the show’s ratings success during February sweeps. This is a time in which networks really covet demo ratings in just about every way that they can.

When Chuck and Carol decide to renew their vows, Mike plans to take his officiating to the next level. Then, with Chuck away on his honeymoon, Ed takes over Outdoor Man security duties with a new approach. Meanwhile, Mandy and Kyle combine their finances and things go less than smoothly in the all-new, special one-hour “The Best Man/Sibling Quibbling” episode of LAST MAN STANDING airing Friday, Feb. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Given that these episodes are airing the day after Valentine’s Day, it does make a certain degree of sense for the show to be bringing some more romance to the table. That’s why we are absolutely happy to get a lot of this when it comes to Chuck renewing his vows. It’s some of his best material of the season, though we know that there may be a surprise for some in that Carol is now being played by a different actress. (Recastings happen, especially for a show that was off the air for a good year — people needed to find other work.)
Hopefully, these episodes will be strong enough that it makes the wait worthwhile.
