Magnum PI spoilers: Lethal Weapon alum Jordana Brewster on board
According to a new report right now via Entertainment Weekly, the Lethal Weapon alum is set to appear in an arc on Magnum PI a little bit later this season. As for her role, she is a former CIA analysis named Hannah, someone who just so happens to have a history with the title character. She is responsible for putting Thomas Magnum and his team in Afghanistan, and had a romantic relationship with him to go along with that; however, she ended up doing something to betray his trust, and he was eventually captured and forced to be a prisoner of war. (Why does Brewster keep playing rogue agents — does anyone else remember Jill from Chuck?)
Ultimately, the question that you have to wonder here is whether or not Hannah made the move that she did intentionally — can she be redeemed? Is she out to harm Magnum again? Regardless of her motivation or the reason for her presence now, it’s pretty easy to say that she’s going to have a big role to play moving forward and we’re excited to watch that part play out over time. We’re always excited anyone new enters the Peter Lenkov extended universe, mostly because his shows have a tendency to bring guest-stars back and they also serve as a great resource for some other character development.
Given that Magnum PI will be done with its first season a little bit earlier in the spring than some other shows, you don’t have to worry about being forced to wait too long in order to see Brewster in action. We’re more than a little confident that she is going to bring a lot of fun, entertaining drama to the table.
New episodes of Magnum PI will officially return to CBS on February 18; we just had a good run of episodes and this, plus the presence of Celebrity Big Brother for the immediate future, is causing the show to be MIA for a little while. Given that we’ve got Brewster coming up and also hopefully some great personal cases, there may still be all sorts of great stuff to look forward to!
