‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: More on Michael Trucco’s Nick

Just after we posted earlier in the day that Michael Trucco is going to be following up his stint on “How I Met Your Mother” with a visit to the Hamptons over on “Revenge,” we now know a few more details about who Nick (otherwise known as “Crush”) is on the hit CBS sitcom, and just how he fits into Robin’s life.

Speaking in a new interview with IGN on this subject, here is what executive producer Craig Thomas had to say without giving too much away about what is going to be coming up:

“[He is] sort of a struggling, cable access chef. He’s really awful and searching for his perfect chef catchphrase … We don’t want to give away too much away about the character, because we kind of have a little reveal about him. His relationship with Robin will delightfully implode during breakup month.”

Really, this character almost reminds us a little bit of Chef Joe Arvin from this season of “Big Brother,” and will hopefully be just about as unintentionally-funny throughout most of the time that we end up watching him. So far, the character has not necessarily been set up as a great intellectual, if for no other reason than that his abs have had just as much screentime as he has throughout the season. Thankfully, we are going to see far more of him moving on this season, including what caused Robin to move from being with him to ultimately being with Barney.
