The journey to the end of Poldark season 5 — and the series as a whole — continues today.

In a new post on her Instagram Stories, series star Ellise Chappell (Morwenna) confirmed that she has wrapped up her time on the series. She shared a number of updates throughout the day (be sure to go check some of those out while they are there), and she also posted the image below at the bottom of this article.

Chappell proved herself to be a perfect version of Morwenna, a character who endured so much constant struggle ever since her arrival a few years in. She came about at a point when there was starting to be at least a little more stability for Ross and Demelza, and her love story with Drake ended up being one of the most painful to watch. They loved each other and longed to be together, but the actions of George Warleggan, coupled with an abusive marriage to Ossie Whitworth (which she agreed to simply as a means to protect Drake), ended up keeping the two apart for years.

Moving into season 5, there is a chance to Morwenna and Drake could actually have some of the elusive happiness that they’ve long sought. It’s going to be emotional to finally see them in that place after everything that they’ve gone through. We want to say that they’ll for certain be happy, but we know that happiness in itself is a fairly loose concept within the Poldark world.

After you check out some of Chappell’s Instagram Stories, we highly recommend that you check out Harry Richardson’s over here — they really run the emotional gamut! The actor behind Drake chronicles much of his last day, including some funny moments with Ellise before filming and also an emotional moment afterward. It’s easy to remember when looking at these just how much of a journey these actors have had together — they’ve put a lot of effort and time into making these roles as fantastic as possible. We only get to see a small fraction of the overall work at the end of the day, and they pour months of their lives into bringing these fictional people to life.

Now, everyone moves on to the next phase and the next job — while we’re sure that it can be fantastic, it will never quite be the exact same as the experience they had here.

Poldark season 5 will likely begin on BBC One this summer, and then on PBS a little later in the year.
