ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Sneak peeks from a newsroom

One of the great things about a murder-mystery show are all of the opportunity that you have to get the main characters out of their element in some shape or form, and we are going to see one prime example of this on Monday night’s new episode of “Castle.” So will Castle and Beckett’s relationship survive what is in many ways its first true test? The sneak peeks below for “Cloudy with a Chance of Murder” at least give us a little bit of an idea.

The episode is going to start of innocent enough, as Castle is engaging in a little game of “get the girlfriend to change as many times as possible” before they are called in to a case … her first since joining the force again. The issue? They don’t want anyone to know that they are together, so their intent is to pretend as though they are single.

Unfortunately for them, there is a problem that comes in the way of this almost immediately: Lanie, who notices at the crime scene (where the victim is a weather girl at a local news station) almost immediately that Beckett has a weird sort of look about her. She does not catch it at the time, but back at her office she finally figures it out: she’s sleeping with someone! This leads to a hilarious guessing game with Castle and Beckett, and Lanie would be crazy to not figure out just what is going on based on their behavior.

In going back to the actual mystery again, Castle’s “single status” cover is going to be put to the test when a local entertainment reporter (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) wants to interview him. This sounds innocent enough, at least until Beckett reveals that she has a habit for interviewing people while wearing her bikini.

Based on the photo that we posted, we know that there is going to be at least one questionable thing that happens as a result of this interaction. Hopefully, this is all just part of the case and Castle’s attempts to have her trust him.
