According to a post on Instagram via series star Eleanor Tomlinson, she’s still got a week left of work on the BBC series. That may also be the case for Ross himself in Aidan Turner, as it’s rather hard to believe that the show’s leading man would wrap up a little bit early.

For many cast members, their work is already done — which is fairly customary within the TV business. Since so many actors don’t appear within the majority of scenes, everyone has a tendency to have very different wrap times on a big production like this. Sometimes, even the wrap party for shows is held before filming is officially done — the reason for that is that many actors often are jumping from one job to the next and if the party is done too late, a lot of important people will not get a chance to attend.

Everyone has to say goodbye to something that they love in their own way, and there are likely a wide array of goodbyes that come with a show like this. There’s probably the goodbye that comes with filming your final scene as your character, and going through the grind of your average day. Then, there is also the goodbye that comes with being together with your fellow cast members, and then there’s the goodbye months down the road when the show actually airs. We imagine the production goodbye is the more significant one, just because you’re living, day in and day out, as your character. You’re putting your all into that performance and trying to make sure that it does justice to the source material and all of the work people are putting in behind the scenes in order to perfect things.

Poldark season 5 is officially going to air on BBC One and PBS later this year — it’s probably going to be a while before we get any sort of official trailer, but we imagine that the series will address the future of Cornwall, and the rivalry between Ross Poldark and George Warleggan, perhaps more than ever before.
